Application of Methylal:

Mainly used in the production of anionic effect exchange resin, but also as a solvent and special fuel. 

Its dissolution capacity is stronger than ether, acetone, methanol and azeotrope can dissolve nitrocellulose 

with high nitrogen content. But because its vapor has strong anesthetics, it is not suitable to be used as a 

general solvent, usually as a special acoustic solvent. It is also used in the manufacture of fragrances, in the

production of artificial resins, as reaction media for the Glia reaction and the Rapa (synthetic) reaction.
